Masailand Coffee Lodge

Masailand Coffee Lodge describes itself as the place "where nature's symphony meets luxury" — an oasis in the heart of Karatu, built for travellers who want somewhere calm and comfortable at the end of a day on the road.

The lodge sits among the gardens and coffee country of Karatu, with a thatched main building reached by a raised timber walkway, a swimming pool set on the lawn, and private rooms spread through the grounds so that reaching your own space is, as the lodge puts it, a healthy walk through a captive environment.

Rooms

Accommodation is named after the coffee that grows around Karatu: Bourbon Deluxe, Robusta Family, Arabica Suite and the Kahawa Rooms. Every room comes with dedicated wi-fi, use of the swimming pool, the in-house cuisine and dining experience, the in-house bar and winery, and pre-booked excursions in Karatu.

Eating, drinking and unwinding

The kitchen serves a fusion of modern Tanzanian and international cooking, and the bar and winery pours house wines from Tanzania and southern Africa alongside local and international beers. There is a spa and beauty parlour on site, plus daily room cleaning.

Getting out and about

Karatu is the gateway to the northern safari circuit, and the lodge arranges excursions in the area for guests. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is on the doorstep, with Lake Manyara and the wider circuit within easy reach.
