Farm of Dreams Lodge
Karatu Town, Karatu, Tanzania
The lodge has 48 independent cottages with private balconies and en-suite bathrooms. Each room is designed to give guests an unfiltered view of the magnificent gardens. Beds are adorned with soft, fine linen and the bathrooms stocked with fluffy white towels. All bedrooms have mosquito netting and fans. For guests travelling with young children who still want some privacy, there are 8 spacious interconnecting rooms designed for families and larger groups.
The warm and cosy rooms overlook the gardens and tropical grounds; the large en-suite bathrooms include WC, shower and washbasins as well as toiletries, and the bedrooms open onto a private terrace furnished with safari chairs.
The restaurant serves à la carte menus as well as set buffets, introducing guests to the best of Tanzanian and international cuisine. Theme nights run through the week and include barbecues and Swahili menus. A set menu is created each day reflecting a philosophy of simple food using the freshest seasonal ingredients — many of the vegetables come from the lodge's own shamba (vegetable garden).
The lounge bar sits in the main building close to the dining area, with an African-touch décor, seating for about 40 guests, and a range of liqueurs, soft drinks, cocktails, wines, spirits and local and international beers. Guests can enjoy a pre-dinner drink around the pool, whose crystal-clear waters are shaded by the occasional acacia tree and edged with sun beds.
The main conference hall seats 120, is well ventilated, and comes with conference chairs and tables, PA system, LCD projector, flip chart, Wi-Fi and a private garden for outdoor functions — making it suitable for weddings and ceremonies as well as meetings.
The lodge has secure parking and 24/7 security.

Best safari guide we've ever had. He knew exactly where to find the lions and rhinos. Worth every penny.
